Prescription commentary

This herbal medicine is suitable when symptoms do not improve after a few days of the onset of a cold, or when the so-called cold has become complicated.

"Saikokeishito" is a prescription that combines katsurazu, which is used at the beginning of a cold for those who lack physical strength, and koshibakitou, which is effective for a complicated cold.

In Chinese herbal medicine, the function of the stomach and intestines is enhanced to increase the production of qi, the life energy, thereby increasing resistance to disease.

For this reason, Shibako-Keishitou is effective for gastroenteritis with a slight fever and nausea.
